2017 Sunshine List: Centre for Addiction and Mental Health top earners
Every year Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants, which includes nurses, teachers, police officers, and firefighters, with six-figure salaries. Topping the list for Centre for Addiction and Mental Health was President and Chief Executive Officer / Présidente-directrice générale Catherine Zahn who brought home $672,731.19 in 2016.
Following Catherine Zahn was Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer / vice-présidente principale et directrice des soins Tracey Macarthur, who had annual earnings of $303,377.65. Senior Director, Social and Epidemiological Research / directeur principal, Recherche sociale et épidémiologique Jurgen Rehm made $254,928.49, Campbell Chair / Titulaire de la chaire Campbell Etienne Sibille made $251,050.40 and Vice President, Site Redevelopment and Support Services / Vice-président, Réaménagement du complexe hospitalier et service de soutien David Cunic round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $246,711.70 for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health 2017 Sunshine List.

The Sunshine List
The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, makes Ontario's public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.
In Ontario the Sunshine List was first published in 1996, by the Progressive Conservative government of Mike Harris. Just 4,576 names appeared on the first list.
