Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2024

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following Mohit Bhandari was Professor Salim Yusuf, with annual earnings of $504,894.94. Professor Claudia Emerson made $469,132.60, Dean and Vice President (Health Sciences) / Professor Paul O'Byrne made $459,373.32, and President and Vice-Chancellor David Farrar round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $456,307.93 for the McMaster University 2024 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2023, 228 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 543 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 464 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 314 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 66 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 46 received over $300,000 at the McMaster University.
