Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2016

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was Chief Executive Officer Designate Thomas Mitchell, who brought home $1,528,933.36 in 2015.

Following Thomas Mitchell was Nuclear President & Chief Nuclear Officer Glenn Jager, with annual earnings of $793,359.07. President & Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Lyash made $787,472.14, Vice President Refurbishment Execution Michael Allen made $700,442.20, and Senior Vice President, Nuclear Projects Dietmar E. Reiner round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $569,877.92 for the Ontario Power Generation 2016 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2015, 997 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 4,552 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 1,655 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 287 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 93 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 48 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
