Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2010

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following JAMES F. HANKINSON was President & Chief Executive Officer THOMAS MITCHELL, with annual earnings of $1,011,334.21. Senior Vice President, Nuclear Refurbishment WILLIAM R. ROBINSON made $875,647.88, Executive Vice President, Darlington New Nuclear Project ALBERT F. SWEETNAM made $808,304.54, and Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer PIERRE R. CHARLEBOIS round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $784,717.35 for the Ontario Power Generation 2010 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2009, 1,480 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 4,570 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 1,506 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 216 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 79 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 47 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
