Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2021

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was President and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Hartwick, who brought home $1,228,517.00 in 2020.

Following Kenneth Hartwick was President, Nuclear Dominique Miniere, with annual earnings of $1,131,767.04. Chief Operations Officer and Chief Nuclear Officer Sean Granville made $901,606.32, Chief Projects Officer Michael Martelli made $850,332.27, and Senior Vice President Pickering Randy Lockwood round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $818,891.74 for the Ontario Power Generation 2021 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2020, 732 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 4,075 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 2,565 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 605 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 138 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 110 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
