Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2008

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was President/Chief Executive Officer JAMES F HANKINSON, who brought home $1,788,719.42 in 2007.

Following JAMES F HANKINSON was Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer PIERRE R CHARLEBOIS, with annual earnings of $1,031,720.14. Senior Vice President, Nuclear Programs & Training WILLIAM ROBINSON made $842,909.48, Chief Nuclear Officer THOMAS MITCHELL made $780,776.80, and Executive Vice President, Fossil JAMES TWOMEY round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $729,417.24 for the Ontario Power Generation 2008 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2007, 1,615 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 3,562 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 1,063 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 129 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 55 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 37 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
