Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2024

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was President and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Hartwick, who brought home $1,925,372.00 in 2023.

Following Kenneth Hartwick was Chief Strategy Officer Dominique Miniere, with annual earnings of $1,194,532.69. Chief Projects Officer Michael Martelli made $972,746.99, Chief Operations Officer Nicolle Butcher made $894,783.33, and Executive Vice President Business Strategy and Commercial Management Christopher Ginther round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $889,925.01 for the Ontario Power Generation 2024 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2023, 552 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 3,419 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 3,823 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 1,053 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 291 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 172 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
