Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2011

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was President & Chief Executive Officer THOMAS MITCHELL, who brought home $1,325,119.04 in 2010.

Following THOMAS MITCHELL was Executive Vice President, Nuclear Refurbishment, Projects & Support WILLIAM ROBINSON, with annual earnings of $863,833.88. Executive Vice President, Hydro JOHN MURPHY made $709,581.68, Chief Nuclear Officer WAYNE ROBBINS made $694,813.44, and Executive Vice President, Darlington New Nuclear Project ALBERT SWEETNAM round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $686,238.00 for the Ontario Power Generation 2011 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2010, 1,575 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 4,326 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 1,492 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 278 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 75 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 42 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
