Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2021

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the University Health Network was President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Smith, who brought home $844,992.20 in 2020.

Following Kevin Smith was Executive Vice President Brian D. Hodges, with annual earnings of $526,013.88. Surgeon-In-Chief Shaf Keshavjee made $515,653.40, Director, Radiation Medicine Fei-Fei Liu made $450,105.12, and Executive Vice President Brad Wouters round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $445,107.50 for the University Health Network 2021 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2020, 913 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 615 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 86 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 23 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 10 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 59 received over $300,000 at the University Health Network.
