Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2014

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Comm. Safety & Corr. Services was Chief Forensic Pathologist MICHAEL POLLANEN, who brought home $337,435.06 in 2013.

Following MICHAEL POLLANEN was Forensic Pathologist TOBY ROSE, with annual earnings of $325,081.64. Medical Director JAYANTHA HERATH made $317,771.04, Deputy Chief Coroner DANIEL CASS made $299,057.98, and Deputy Chief Coroner WILLIAM LUCAS round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $295,864.36 for the Comm. Safety & Corr. Services 2014 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2013, 2,006 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 1,824 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 66 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 7 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 15 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 3 received over $300,000 at the Comm. Safety & Corr. Services.
