Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2017

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the University of Waterloo was President Feridun Hamdullahpur, who brought home $399,999.96 in 2016.

Following Feridun Hamdullahpur was Professor Thomas Scott, with annual earnings of $316,407.53. Vice-President, Academic and Provost Ian Orchard made $305,000.04, Vice-President, University Relations Sandra G. Banks made $299,000.04, and Professor Jeong-Bon Kim round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $293,312.08 for the University of Waterloo 2017 Sunshine List.
