Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2001

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Cancer Care Ontario was CEO/Radiation Oncologist RANDALL BISSETT, who brought home $254,650.07 in 2000.

Following RANDALL BISSETT was MOHLTC, Special Advisor, Cancer Iss. LESLIE LEVIN, with annual earnings of $251,293.46. Program Leader, Systemic Treatment COLIN GERMOND made $244,965.93, Head, Medical Oncology DIMITRIOS VERGIDIS made $239,239.92, and Radiation Oncologist BARBARA LADA round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $234,465.57 for the Cancer Care Ontario 2001 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2000, 35 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 129 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 44 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 11 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 2 received between $250,001 and $300,000 at the Cancer Care Ontario.
