Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2001

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following JOHN PORTER VEINOT was Prof. Clin. (M.D.); Doyen - Dean PETER WALKER, with annual earnings of $193,040.04. Recteur - Rector MARCEL HAMELIN made $185,204.76, Prof. Clin. (M.D.) BALDWIN TOYE made $179,586.79, and Prof. Clin. (M.D.) MARY K. SENTERMAN round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $178,906.77 for the University of Ottawa 2001 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2000, 71 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 65 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 12 received between $150,001 and $200,000 at the University of Ottawa.
