Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2002

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was President & CEO RONALD W. OSBORNE, who brought home $1,874,102.86 in 2001.

Following RONALD W. OSBORNE was EVP, Chief Nuclear Officer EUGENE PRESTON, with annual earnings of $1,590,206.49. Chief Operating Officer GRAHAM A. BROWN made $808,333.60, EVP Corp Dev. & Legal Affairs DAVID W. DRINKWATER made $732,661.97, and Chief Financial Officer WAYNE M. BINGHAM round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $548,410.84 for the Ontario Power Generation 2002 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2001, 1,072 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 1,590 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 217 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 38 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 7 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 30 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
