Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2004

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was Chief Operating Officer GRAHAM A. BROWN, who brought home $1,721,948.14 in 2003.

Following GRAHAM A. BROWN was Senior VP Trading & Portfolio Mgmt SNICK MEYERS, with annual earnings of $1,229,686.61. Vice President, Special Projects W. DOWELL HUDSON made $990,841.89, President & CEO RONALD W. OSBORNE made $925,997.72, and Exec. VP, Corp Dev. & Legal & CFO DAVID DRINKWATER round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $825,727.88 for the Ontario Power Generation 2004 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2003, 1,338 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 2,121 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 404 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 64 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 19 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 34 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
