Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2009

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following ELIZABETH RICHARDSON was City Manager JOSEPH RINALDO, with annual earnings of $213,678.93. Chief of Police BRIAN MULLAN made $205,423.02, General Manager, Public Works SCOTT STEWART made $201,210.68, and General Manager, Planning & Economic Development LEE COVEYDUCK round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $181,895.06 for the City of Hamilton 2009 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2008, 173 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 121 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 12 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 4 received between $200,001 and $250,000 at the City of Hamilton.
