Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2010

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the City of Ottawa was City Manager KENT KIRKPATRICK, who brought home $311,133.23 in 2009.

Following KENT KIRKPATRICK was Medical Officer, Health ISRA LEVY, with annual earnings of $270,590.80. Deputy City Manager, City Operations STEVE KANELLAKOS made $262,064.44, Deputy City Manager, Infrastructure Services & Community Sustainability NANCY SCHEPERS made $239,993.96, and Associate Medical Officer, Health - Vaccine Preventable Diseases NADINE SICARD round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $234,597.71 for the City of Ottawa 2010 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2009, 357 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 333 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 19 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 10 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 2 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 1 received over $300,000 at the City of Ottawa.
