Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2010

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ombudsman Ontario was Ombudsman ANDRÉ MARIN, who brought home $215,790.71 in 2009.

Following ANDRÉ MARIN was Senior Counsel/Acting Deputy Ombudsman WENDY RAY, with annual earnings of $201,598.84. Senior Counsel LAURA PETTIGREW made $191,546.46, Deputy Ombudsman/Director, Operations BARBARA FINLAY made $172,219.25, and Director, Special Ombudsman Response Team GARETH JONES round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $162,392.48 for the Ombudsman Ontario 2010 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2009, 2 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 3 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 3 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 2 received between $200,001 and $250,000 at the Ombudsman Ontario.
