Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2013

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the University of Western Ontario was Dean / Professor / Medical Doctor MICHAEL STRONG, who brought home $482,125.86 in 2012.

Following MICHAEL STRONG was President and Vice–Chancellor AMIT CHAKMA, with annual earnings of $479,600.04. Vice President (External) KEVIN GOLDTHORP made $459,999.96, Dean CAROL STEPHENSON made $409,365.96, and Provost & Vice–President (Academic) / Professor JANICE DEAKIN round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $350,999.98 for the University of Western Ontario 2013 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2012, 196 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 600 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 223 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 54 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 16 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 12 received over $300,000 at the University of Western Ontario.
