Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2014

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was President & Chief Executive Officer THOMAS MITCHELL, who brought home $1,714,000.04 in 2013.

Following THOMAS MITCHELL was Chief Nuclear Officer WAYNE ROBBINS, with annual earnings of $915,850.96. Executive Vice President, Strategic Initiatives JOHN MURPHY made $903,970.54, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer DONN W. HANBIDGE made $664,974.28, and Senior Advisor Joint Ventures FRANK CHIAROTTO round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $605,838.56 for the Ontario Power Generation 2014 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2013, 1,244 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 4,417 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 1,771 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 374 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 104 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 48 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
