Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2015

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Children and Youth Services was Medical Director / Directeur médical Ajit Ninan, who brought home $314,438.71 in 2014.

Following Ajit Ninan was Psychiatrist / Psychiatre Timothy Beal, with annual earnings of $275,398.11. Psychiatrist / Psychiatre Alan Brown made $275,398.11, Psychiatrist / Psychiatre Sohail Makhdoom made $275,398.11, and Paediatrician / Pédiatre Clare Mitchell round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $275,398.11 for the Children and Youth Services 2015 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2014, 86 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 85 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 9 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 2 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 6 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 1 received over $300,000 at the Children and Youth Services.
