Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2016

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following Tim Commisso was General Manager Corporate Services and Long Term Care Carol Pollard, with annual earnings of $203,878.89. Chief of Police Jean-Paul Levesque made $200,916.17, Deputy Chief of Police Andrew Hay made $176,551.60, and General Manager - Community Services Michael James Smith round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $175,836.05 for the City of Thunder Bay 2016 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2015, 116 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 106 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 10 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 3 received between $200,001 and $250,000 at the City of Thunder Bay.
