Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2016

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the University of Ontario Institute of Technology was President and Vice-Chancellor Timothy Mctiernan, who brought home $325,172.26 in 2015.

Following Timothy Mctiernan was Provost and Vice President, Academic Deborah Saucier, with annual earnings of $273,307.56. Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Tarlochan Sidhu made $264,389.94, Vice President, External Relations and Advancement Susan T. Mcgovern made $235,394.92, and University Secretary and General Counsel Cheryl A. Foy round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $225,378.12 for the University of Ontario Institute of Technology 2016 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2015, 27 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 114 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 41 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 9 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 2 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 1 received over $300,000 at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
