Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2017

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the City of Mississauga was City Manager Janice Baker, who brought home $280,435.17 in 2016.

Following Janice Baker was Commissioner, Planning and Building Edward Sajecki, with annual earnings of $220,988.94. Commissioner, Community Services Paul Arthur Mitcham made $220,988.94, Commissioner Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer Gary Kent made $215,318.47, and City Solicitor Mary Ellen Bench round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $209,814.91 for the City of Mississauga 2017 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2016, 504 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 431 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 44 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 5 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 1 received between $250,001 and $300,000 at the City of Mississauga.
