Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2017

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the City of Toronto was City Manager Peter Wallace, who brought home $350,072.89 in 2016.

Following Peter Wallace was Deputy City Manager John W. Livey, with annual earnings of $300,013.86. Associate Medical Officer of Health Director Communicable Disease Control Howard Shapiro made $292,424.31, Deputy City Manager and Chief Financial Officer Roberto Rossini made $283,132.99, and Fire Chief General Manager James Sales round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $271,391.62 for the City of Toronto 2017 Sunshine List.
