Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2019

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Attorney General's 2,032 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $346,534,693.27 in 2018.

At the top of the Attorney General Sunshine List

Topping the list for the Attorney General was Deputy Attorney General Paul Boniferro, who brought home $380,232.61 in 2018.

Following Paul Boniferro was Crown Counsel Jamie Klukach, with annual earnings of $247,117.89. Senior Crown Counsel James Cornish made $245,296.06, Assistant Deputy Attorney General, Policy Division Irwin Glasberg made $236,364.22, and Executive Director Justice Pol Juliet Robin round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $235,524.12 for the Attorney General 2019 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2018, 245 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 492 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 404 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 890 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 1 received between $250,001 and $300,000 at the Attorney General.
