Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2019

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the City of Vaughan was City Solicitor Claudia Storto, who brought home $332,142.07 in 2018.

Following Claudia Storto was City Manager Daniel Kostopoulos, with annual earnings of $290,506.13. Fire Chief Lawrence Bentley made $256,136.85, Deputy City Manager, Public Works Stephen Collins made $221,314.78, and Deputy City Manager, Community Services Mary Reali-Scarcello round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $220,090.21 for the City of Vaughan 2019 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2018, 204 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 265 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 28 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 6 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 2 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 1 received over $300,000 at the City of Vaughan.
