Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2019

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Financial Services Commission was Superintendent/Chief Executive Officer Brian Mills, who brought home $226,060.15 in 2018.

Following Brian Mills was Chief Actuary Insurance Dennis Chan, with annual earnings of $223,132.73. Deputy Superintendent Lester Wong made $207,676.40, Executive Director, Automobile Insurance Division Tom Golfetto made $207,676.40, and Executive Director, Licensing and Market Conduct Division Anatol Monid round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $192,290.49 for the Financial Services Commission 2019 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2018, 46 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 40 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 7 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 4 received between $200,001 and $250,000 at the Financial Services Commission.
