Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2019

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Northern Development and Mines was Deputy Minister David De Launay, who brought home $288,321.07 in 2018.

Following David De Launay was Assistant Deputy Minister, Mines and Minerals Division Christine Kaszycki, with annual earnings of $207,676.40. Chief Administrative Officer/Assistant Deputy Minister Scott Mantle made $192,290.49, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy Division Susan Capling made $188,641.30, and Assistant Deputy Minister, Northern Development Division Helen Mulc round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $178,045.02 for the Northern Development and Mines 2019 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2018, 38 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 38 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 11 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 1 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 1 received between $250,001 and $300,000 at the Northern Development and Mines.
