Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2020

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following Davy C.H. Cheng was Professor Amit Chakma, with annual earnings of $484,000.04. Professor Stephen Williamson made $433,821.00, Professor Mark Vandenbosch made $418,662.44, and Vice-Dean/Professor/Medical Doctor Jay Rosenfield round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $409,332.24 for the University Of Western Ontario 2020 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2019, 172 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 652 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 392 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 121 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 38 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 21 received over $300,000 at the University Of Western Ontario.
