Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2021

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Labour, Training and Skills Development's 486 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $58,023,131.15 in 2020.

Topping the list for the Labour, Training and Skills Development was Deputy Minister Greg Meredith, who brought home $368,654.62 in 2020.

Following Greg Meredith was Deputy Minister Sophie Dennis, with annual earnings of $293,171.32. Provincial Physician Nikhil Rajaram made $266,867.21, Director and Chief Physician Leon Genesove made $266,217.44, and Chief Prevention Officer Ronald Kelusky round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $233,239.56 for the Labour, Training and Skills Development 2021 Sunshine List.
