Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2023

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following Andrew Reed was Commissioner, Ontario Provincial Police Thomas Carrique, with annual earnings of $361,781.24. Commander Charles Cox made $262,546.78, Commander Christopher Harkins made $262,163.91, and Commander Roseanne Dimarco round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $262,163.91 for the Ontario Provincial Police 2023 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2022, 535 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 3,611 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 1,021 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 75 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 4 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 2 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Provincial Police.
