Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 1999

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Attorney General was Deputy Attorney General ANDROMACHE KARAKATSANIS, who brought home $148,250.33 in 1998.

Following ANDROMACHE KARAKATSANIS was Chief Provincial Judge (CD) SIDNEY B LINDEN, with annual earnings of $148,247.73. Associate Chief Judge BRIAN W LENNOX made $145,160.07, Associate Chief Judge MARIETTA L ROBERTS made $145,160.07, and Associate Chief Judge GERALD S LAPKIN round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $144,604.46 for the Attorney General 1999 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 1998, 172 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 450 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 at the Attorney General.
