Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2006

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Power Generation was EVP and Corporate Secretary RICHARD DICERNI, who brought home $866,562.30 in 2005.

Following RICHARD DICERNI was Senior Vice President, Darlington GREGORY SMITH, with annual earnings of $811,747.71. Sr Vice President, Nucl Programs & Trng WILLIAM ROBINSON made $776,228.26, EVP/Chief Nuclear Officer PIERRE R. CHARLEBOIS made $763,886.56, and Executive Vice President, Fossil JAMES TWOMEY round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $747,051.84 for the Ontario Power Generation 2006 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2005, 1,513 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 2,731 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 556 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 101 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 21 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 23 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Power Generation.
