Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2007

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following DAVID M. SAUNDERS was Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences DAVID M. C. WALKER, with annual earnings of $330,702.46. Principal & Vice-Chancellor KAREN R. HITCHCOCK made $329,402.02, Vice-Principal, Advancement GEORGE N. HOOD made $297,890.68, and Professor, Business TINA DACIN round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $249,857.50 for the Queen's University 2007 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2006, 159 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 341 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 51 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 14 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 1 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 6 received over $300,000 at the Queen's University.
