The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

At the top of the Natural Resources Sunshine List

Topping the list for the Natural Resources was Assistant Deputy Minister, Science & Information Resources Division MICHAEL WILLICK, who brought home $172,647.05 in 2007.

Following MICHAEL WILLICK was Assistant Deputy Minister, Natural Resource Management Division KEVIN WILSON, with annual earnings of $171,132.05. Mining & Lands Commissioner LINDA KAMERMAN made $165,829.55, Assistant Deputy Minister, Forests Division WILLIAM THORNTON made $164,004.17, and Deputy Minister CHARLIE LAUER round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $163,471.87 for the Natural Resources 2008 Sunshine List.
