Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2011

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Energy's 44 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $5,283,460.75 in 2010.

Topping the list for the Energy was Deputy Minister DAVID LINDSAY, who brought home $228,303.58 in 2010.

Following DAVID LINDSAY was Assistant Deputy Minister, Energy Supply Transmission and Distribution Policy RICHARD JENNINGS, with annual earnings of $173,211.99. Assistant Deputy Minister, Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Policy JOHN WHITEHEAD made $172,955.09, Assistant Deputy Minister, Renewables and Energy Efficiency SUSAN LO made $157,967.21, and Director, Energy Supply and Competition Policy GERALD MCKEEVER round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $144,145.22 for the Energy 2011 Sunshine List.
