The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

2011 Ontario Sunshine List: Health & Long-Term Care Top Earners

Topping the list for the Health & Long-Term Care was Deputy Minister SAÄD RAFI, who brought home $379,302.23 in 2010.

Following SAÄD RAFI was Chief Medical Officer, Health ARLENE KING, with annual earnings of $328,122.40. Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health/Health Promotion FRANCOISE BOUCHARD made $232,574.11, Manager, Finance & Information LOUIS CRICHTON made $226,619.44, and Senior Medical Consultant BETH HENNING round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $223,475.93 for the Health & Long-Term Care 2011 Sunshine List.
