Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2011

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

2011 Ontario Sunshine List: Revenue Top Earners

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Revenue's 138 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $16,289,360.90 in 2010.

At the top of the Revenue Sunshine List

Topping the list for the Revenue was Chief Information Officer, Central Agencies Information & Information Technology Cluster JAMES HAMILTON, who brought home $197,719.42 in 2010.

Following JAMES HAMILTON was Strategic Lead, Tobacco Tax Compliance JEFFREY SIMSER, with annual earnings of $194,037.59. Deputy Minister STEPHEN ORSINI made $192,094.73, Assistant Deputy Minister, Sales & Corporate Tax Administration ROBERT LARAMY made $174,888.26, and Assistant Deputy Minister, Tax Programs Strategies PETER RZADKI round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $174,888.26 for the Revenue 2011 Sunshine List.
