Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2012

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the University of Western Ontario was President and Vice-Chancellor AMIT CHAKMA, who brought home $512,600.04 in 2011.

Following AMIT CHAKMA was Dean / Professor / Medical Doctor MICHAEL STRONG, with annual earnings of $472,729.56. Vice President (External) KEVIN GOLDTHORP made $459,999.96, Dean CAROL STEPHENSON made $409,423.00, and Professor / Medical Doctor RICHARD KIM round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $314,497.41 for the University of Western Ontario 2012 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2011, 199 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 554 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 184 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 47 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 18 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 7 received over $300,000 at the University of Western Ontario.
