Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2016

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following Ajit Ninan was Psychiatrist / Psychiatre Timothy Beal, with annual earnings of $265,198.18. Psychiatrist / Psychiatre Sohail Makhdoom made $265,198.18, Paediatrician / Pédiatre Clare Mitchell made $265,198.18, and Psychiatrist / Psychiatre Kamran Kizilbash round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $263,158.19 for the Children & Youth Services 2016 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2015, 102 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 61 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 7 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 3 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 4 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 1 received over $300,000 at the Children & Youth Services.
