Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2020

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Environment, Conservation and Parks was Deputy Minister Serge Imbrogno, who brought home $316,804.20 in 2019.

Following Serge Imbrogno was Deputy Minister Paul Evans, with annual earnings of $286,947.25. Assistant Deputy Minister, Climate Change and Resiliency Division Alexander Wood made $241,147.16, Assistant Deputy Minister, Environmental Policy Division James Whitestone made $222,439.47, and Assistant Deputy Minister, Environmental Policy Division Alison Pilla round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $222,200.58 for the Environment, Conservation and Parks 2020 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2019, 302 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 275 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 23 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 4 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 1 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 1 received over $300,000 at the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
