Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2021

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following Ajit Ninan was Deputy Minister Janet Menard, with annual earnings of $393,055.71. Psychiatrist Sohail Makhdoom made $292,107.75, Psychiatrist Nevena Dourova made $292,107.75, and Psychiatrist Timothy Beal round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $292,107.75 for the Children, Community and Social Services 2021 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2020, 441 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 497 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 51 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 13 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 5 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 2 received over $300,000 at the Children, Community and Social Services.
