Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2025

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

At the top of the Long-Term Care Sunshine List

Topping the list for the Long-Term Care was Deputy Minister Melissa Thomson, who brought home $293,604.87 in 2024.

Following Melissa Thomson was Assistant Deputy Minister, Long-Term Care Operations Kelly Mcaslan, with annual earnings of $207,044.57. Assistant Deputy Minister, System Planning and Partnerships Gillian Steeve made $199,183.97, Director, Long-Term Care Staffing Carol Strachan made $192,953.77, and Assistant Deputy Minister, Long-Term Care Policy Sean Court round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $191,190.88 for the Long-Term Care 2025 Sunshine List.
