Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2002

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Health & Long-Term Care was ADM/CEO GAIL PAECH, who brought home $269,145.01 in 2001.

Following GAIL PAECH was Deputy Minister T. DANIEL BURNS, with annual earnings of $207,195.78. Psychiatrist-in-Chief LOIS HUTCHINSON made $205,893.29, Psychiatrist RUSSEL FLEMING made $197,590.78, and Psychiatrist ADDO BOAFO round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $187,731.55 for the Health & Long-Term Care 2002 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2001, 18 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 64 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 48 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 2 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 1 received between $250,001 and $300,000 at the Health & Long-Term Care.
