Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2013

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Ontario Pension Board's 38 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $7,483,506.73 in 2012.

Topping the list for the Ontario Pension Board was President and Chief Executive Officer MARK FULLER, who brought home $550,445.54 in 2012.

Following MARK FULLER was Chief Investment Officer JILL PEPALL, with annual earnings of $494,781.95. Senior Vice President, Finance and Technology DUNCAN WEBB made $409,225.46, Senior Vice President, Pensions and Stakeholder Relations PETER SHENA made $400,434.76, and Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and General Counsel R. PAUL EDMONDS round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $395,903.51 for the Ontario Pension Board 2013 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2012, 7 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 12 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 7 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 1 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 4 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 7 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Pension Board.
