Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2021

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Colleges and Universities was Deputy Minister George Zegarac, who brought home $331,647.48 in 2020.

Following George Zegarac was Deputy Minister Shelley Tapp, with annual earnings of $295,801.89. Assistant Deputy Minister Kelly Shields made $186,645.28, Assistant Deputy Minister Tamara Gilbert made $182,955.93, and Chief Administrative Officer Susan Flanagan round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $181,311.95 for the Colleges and Universities 2021 Sunshine List.
