Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2023

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Catholic Children’s Aid Society's 75 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $9,262,141.32 in 2022.

Topping the list for the Catholic Children’s Aid Society was Director of Service Domenic Gratta, who brought home $214,389.15 in 2022.

Following Domenic Gratta was Chief Financial Officer Clara Secnik, with annual earnings of $193,024.29. Director, Human Resources Munish Sharma made $186,438.23, Director of Quality, Strategy and Planning Katherine Schumaker made $184,802.92, and Executive Director Mark Kartusch round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $170,241.39 for the Catholic Children’s Aid Society 2023 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2022, 19 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 50 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 5 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 1 received between $200,001 and $250,000 at the Catholic Children’s Aid Society.
