Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2023

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Ontario Science Centre was Chief Executive Officer Paul Kortenaar, who brought home $192,483.72 in 2022.

Following Paul Kortenaar was Vice President, External Relations Alicia Farrow, with annual earnings of $186,189.07. Vice President, Strategic Initiatives Catherine Paisley made $186,189.07, Vice President, Corporate Services Yoke Chung made $155,071.02, and Vice President, Learning and Engagement Lorrie Ann Smith round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $139,090.01 for the Ontario Science Centre 2023 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2022, 16 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 14 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 4 received between $150,001 and $200,000 at the Ontario Science Centre.
