Newfoundland and Labrador Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2022

On December 13, 2016 the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador passed legislation in the House of Assembly require an annual listing of all employees in departments and a number of agencies, boards, commissions, health care bodies, educational bodies and Crown corporations who receive total compensation of more than $100,000 in a year.

Every year, the Newfoundland and Labrador government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Finance's 26 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $2,929,500.00 in 2021.

At the top of the Finance Sunshine List

Topping the list for the Finance was Deputy Minister Michelle Jewer, who brought home $154,800.00 in 2021.

Following Michelle Jewer was Assistant Deputy Minister Doug Trask, with annual earnings of $140,800.00. Assistant Deputy Minister Theresa Heffernan made $139,700.00, Director of Budgeting Corey Tucker made $122,000.00, and Dir Economic & Proj Analysis Dennis Sharpe round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $116,600.00 for the Finance 2022 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2021, 16 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 9 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 1 received between $150,001 and $200,000 at the Finance.
